Wim Hof, a Dutch man who is the only known non-monk to have mastered the art of Tummo, broke his own world record for time in an ice bath with a time of 72 minutes. If you factor in the time he was standing in the cold ambiance and the time it took to fill up the ice box, he was in the cold for closer to 87 minutes...

Fall Brawl

Photographing a boxing match is squeezing eight grown men into three real spots to get the shot. Needless to say, I found it to be a royal pain last night at the Aviator Center in Brooklyn.

Anyways, the match was between the NYPD and the FDNY. The FDNY had a slow start, but picked up the slack as the night went on.

FDNY Bravest -- Practice

FDNY's boxing team agreed to let me photograph them in practice and in tournament. Their tournament "Annual Fall Brawl" against the NYPD is on November 16th at the Aviator Sports and Recreation Center. They definitely seem pretty hardcore (see below):

Gold Cup--Queens, NY

Technically, this is two weeks old, but in my head it's still new. I showed up at a Taekwondo tourney to see what's up. I came to the conclusion that harder one kicks, the better you are. It was a different experience. First, I had to pay an admission fee. I wasn't going to, but then I figured that since I traveled all the way to Queens College via public transport...a few bucks won't kill me. Then, I didn't really get the go ahead to shoot as if I were on assignment, but I made do.









...ouch.

Halloween

Halloween night was rather eventful... frightful...crazy... night.
Especially in NYC, but well worth it.
